New Student Orientation: Embarking on Your College Journey

Welcome to the beginning of your exciting journey at Washington State College of Ohio! Our New Student Orientation is designed with you in mind.  We want to ensure you start your college experience on the right foot. Hosted by our dedicated Success Coaches, this session is your gateway to a successful and fulfilling college life.  This session is specifically designed for our students who have already graduated from high school or completed a GED and have met with a Success Coach for registration.  Students who are completing college classes while still enrolled in high school should register for a CCP orientation session.

Orientation Highlights:

• Warm Welcome: The session kicks off with a heartfelt greeting from the Dean of Student Success, who will share inspiring words, outline our commitment to your success, and introduce you to the vibrant culture and values of our college.

• Meet Your Success Coaches: Get acquainted with our Success Coaches who will be your guides and mentors throughout your college journey. They're here to support your academic progress, personal growth, and career aspirations.

• Navigating College Platforms: Dive into an interactive walkthrough of the essential platforms you'll use as a student, including Student Planning and Canvas, our Learning Management System (LMS) for course materials and assignments, and other digital tools that will be integral to your academic life.

• Financial Aid Insights: Hear directly from our Financial Aid Office about the various scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study options available to you. Learn how to navigate the financial aid process, meet deadlines, and maximize the financial resources at your disposal.

• Center for Student Success: Discover the wealth of resources offered by the Center for Student Success. From tutoring and academic advising to career services and mental health support, learn how these resources can help you thrive academically, personally, and professionally.
